EuroTest spotlighted by
the European Institutions
Officials of the European Commission and members of the European Parliament acknowledged “EuroTest” as a trend setter and a public opinion maker on Tuesday, November 9th 2004. During the course of the conference, answers were given by the European policymakers to the question posed by Johann Grill, FIA, Brussels Director General, “To what extent is EuroTest really influencing policy and to what extent can policy benefit from EuroTest?” served to highlight the various strengths of EuroTest. “EuroTest” a pan-European consumer programme run by a consortium of 15 automobile clubs from 14 countries and coordinated by the FIA Brussels Bureau, organises several tests annually to examine the safety and quality of Europe’s mobility infrastructure.

The Future of Tunnel Testing
After six years of testing tunnels in Europe EuroTest Tunnel inspections have given way to EuroTAP (European Tunnel Assessment Programme). EuroTAP will run for three years with the support of the European Commission. Interested EuroTest partners have formed the EuroTAP consortium under the coordination of the FIA Brussels offi ce in order to focus only on further improving tunnel safety.
